Berdusk

Berdusk is known as the Jewel of the Vale as it sits on both the Uldoon Trail and the river Chionthar in Sunset Vale. Twilight Hall is located here, making the city the many base of operations for Harpers in the west and the north. A person from Berdusk is known as a Berduskan.

This is solely my vision of Berdusk, based on elements of story from the campaign I'm running, character back stories, source material. This is not official lore.

Districts

Most traffic to the city arrives from the south, either from the River Chionthar itself, along the river or across it. Fancy folk try to arrange it so that their boat brings them right up the waterfront, or else they approach from the North.

(1) Southend

Southend houses most of the working class of the city. It holds few shops and entertainments, certainly no inns. There is a small temple to Chauntea.

(2) Temple District

The temple district contains temples of Deneir, Helm, Oghma and Milil.

(3) The Hill

This is where the nobility dwells. They tend to call it “The Hill” while commoners sometimes call it “Castleyard” and refer to the spoiled sons of nobility as “castleyard dogs.” There are shops and venues that provide the finer things in life to the castle, the nobility and travels with business there.

(4) Market Quarter

This is a bustling area full of commerce, where you find normal everyday folk, neither downtrodden or those who downtrod!

(5) The Docks

Very much the working part of town. The Thousandheads Trading Coster has their market here. The working docks and warehouses, the facilities for managing the waste of the city, incoming food and produce, meat and fish plants – all can be seen (and smelt!) here.
